Our Rifle Range is situated in Camp Centre and consists of a simple, purpose built, semi-indoor range.

Rifle Shooting at Waddecar is a great opportunity to introduce young people to the sport of shooting in a safe and controlled environment. For many young people, this will be their first encounter with fire arms outside of video games, and, as such, a great chance to develop a healthy respect for them.

Instruction

The activity can be booked either on a self-help basis for those with the appropriate qualification or training or, for an additional fee, as an instructor-led activity subject to instructor availability. Please see Leaders Qualification Requirements.

Each hour long session is for up to 12 participants. Where participants may need extra help, to get the most out of the session, it is recommended that additional Leaders attend the session to assist the Instructor. Please be aware that Rifle Shooting is currently only available for 8 year olds and over.

NOTE: Section 21 of the 1968 Firearms Act prohibits the use of a firearm and ammunition by any person who has been convicted of a crime and sentenced to a term of imprisonment, or its equivalent for young persons, of 3 months or more. It is the responsibility of the Leader in Charge to ensure that ALL participants are compliant.

If a group is taking part in Rifle Shooting, each individual must have a written consent form from the parent or guardian. These forms must be handed to the instructor delivering your session in order fo the individual to take part in the activity. Alternatively, the leader in charge may present a Leader Declaration Form confirming that they have obtained written permission for each individual involved.
These forms can be found below:
